Beyond the tourist hub lies a completely different world - a realm of secluded beaches, ancient temples, picturesque lakes, and viewpoints with breathtaking vistas. And the best way to discover this side of Pattaya is to rent a bike.
Two wheels give you unique freedom:
Starting point: 20150 Pattaya, Thappraya Rd. Soi 12, The Ocean Pearl, 354/101
Distance: 80-90 km
Duration: full day (start at 8:00 AM)
Difficulty: moderate (includes dirt sections)
Head north along Sukhumvit Road. After 15 km, turn towards the temple - a majestic monastery surrounded by rice fields. An incredible silence reigns here, broken only by birdsong. Stroll through the well‑maintained gardens, admire the lotus ponds, and take morning photos in the soft light. Sightseeing time: 1–1.5 hours.
Return to the main road and turn towards the reservoir after 5 km. The loop road around the lake is an ideal track for bikers: gentle curves, views of grazing cows, storks, and local fishermen. Stop at one of the lakeside cafés for a cup of Thai coffee. Time: 1 hour.
The most photogenic spot on the route. A 130‑metre golden image of Buddha, laser‑engraved on the cliff, leaves a lasting impression. The garden at the foot, with its pond, creates an atmosphere of serenity. Time: 40-60 minutes.
A winding ascent along a paved road will take you to one of the region’s best viewpoints. From this height, you’ll enjoy a view of the Gulf of Thailand and a chain of islands. Be careful with the monkeys - they’re the rightful masters here. Best time: sunset, though it’s beautiful during the day too.
The most adventurous stretch! The last 3 km are a dirt road that requires attention. The reward is a secluded beach at the foot of the hills, with crystal‑clear water. There are almost no tourists here, just locals. It’s an ideal spot for swimming and lunch at a simple café. Time: 1-2 hours.
Climb the stairs (leave your bike below) to the viewpoint overlooking Bang Saen Beach. If you catch the sunset, it’ll be an unforgettable sight. Time: 30 minutes.
End the day in an authentic Thai village. Ride past fruit farms, buy fresh mangoes and rambutans from locals, and chat with residents. Time: 1 hour.
Return to starting point: 15 km, 30 minutes.
Rentmotorbike Ltd. - a time‑tested partner since 2009. Why choose them:

Season: November-February (cooler, no rain)
Start: 8:00 AM (avoid morning traffic)

This route is not just a ride - it’s a true journey into the heart of real Thailand. You’ll see a Pattaya that’s not featured in tourist brochures, feel the freedom of two wheels, and take home memories that will stay with you forever.
