Requirements and Rental Terms – Motorbike Rental in Thailand
1. Documents Required
To rent a motorbike in Thailand, you must provide a passport (original or copy) and be at least 18 years old.
2. Security Deposit
A deposit is required – either in the form of a passport or cash. The amount depends on the motorbike model and ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 THB (or equivalent in another currency).
3. Driving License Requirements
A driving license is not required to rent a scooter, but you must have one to legally drive in Thailand. Without a valid license, you may receive a police fine of 500–1,000 THB.
4. Fuel Policy
Each motorbike is provided with a full tank of fuel. It must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, the missing fuel cost will be deducted from the deposit.
5. Photos and Video
Upon receiving the bike, the renter is required to take photos or a video from different angles. Upon return, we may ask to verify the condition using these materials.
6. Helmets
Helmets are provided free of charge. All helmets are disinfected after each use.
7. Responsibility for the Vehicle
The renter is fully responsible for the motorbike during the rental period. Any damage caused by the renter must be paid for.
8. Dead Battery Policy
If the battery is drained due to user negligence (e.g., ignition left on), the renter may be responsible for replacement costs.
9. Water Damage
Submerging the scooter in water is strictly prohibited. Any damage from deep water, heavy rain, or floods must be covered by the renter.
10. Fines and Accidents
All traffic fines must be paid by the renter. In case of an accident, contact our office and the local police immediately.
11. Minimum Rental Period
The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
